Coaching Defined

Coaching is a partnership between the Coach and the Client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the Client to maximise their potential.  It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of personal, professional, or business goals and to develop strategies/plans for achieving those goals.

 

Coach’s Responsibilities

  1. Help you prioritise and develop realistic and effective action plans for growth.

  2. Set up meetings (phone or person) for the upcoming months.

  3. Return your voice or e-mail within the next working day (unless it is communicated that I will be unavailable in advance)

  4. Provide guidance that fits your needs.

  5. Provide appropriate encouragement, reinforcement, + support within a secure, confidential space.

  6. Challenge you when you need it.

  7. Provide you with resources associated with implementing your action plan.

 

Client’s Responsibilities

  1. Communicate honestly, be open to feedback and assistance.

  2. Create the time and energy to participate fully in the programme.

  3. Take responsibility for creating and implementing your own physical, mental, and emotional well-being, decisions, choices, actions, and results.

  4. Focus on a few changes that you are committed to improve.

  5. Try new behaviours even if they are uncomfortable.

 

Coaching Agreement

  1. Service

The parties agree to engage in coaching sessions.  The purpose of these sessions will be to help the Client get more clarity over their desired outcomes and therefore the journey goals that will help them move towards this desired outcome.

Sessions will last approximately 60-90 minutes each and will be held at a date, time, and location/video conferencing to be mutually agreed by the Coach and the Client for a period also agreed together.

The Coach will be available to the Client by email and voicemail in between scheduled meetings as defined by the Coach. 

​

The Client understands that the session may be recorded for training and supervisory purposes only. The Coach agrees to maintain confidentiality and ensure any recordings are not shared for any other purpose, without prior consent. Any recordings held by the Coach are subject to GDPR rules.

2. Schedule and Fees

The fee will be agreed and payable by bank transfer, immediately after each session, no later than 5 working days post session or as agreed differently.

 

3. Cancellation

If a session is cancelled with 48 hours’ notice an alternative time can be scheduled without charge for the missed session.  However, where the session is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice the Coach reserves the right to bill the Client the full cost of a missed meeting. 

 

4. Terms of Engagement

  1. The Coach agrees to maintain the ethics and standards of behaviour established by the International Coaching Federation “(ICF)”.  It is recommended that the Client review the ICF Code of Ethics and the applicable standards of behaviour (ICF Code of Ethics - International Coaching Federation)

  2. The Client is solely responsible for his or her own achievements and success.  The Coach cannot and does not promise that the client will take any specific action or attain specific goals.

  3. The Client acknowledges that coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve different areas of his or her life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education and recreation. The Client agrees that deciding how to handle these issues, incorporate coaching principles into those areas and implementing choices is exclusively the Client’s responsibility.

  4. The Client understands that in order to enhance the coaching relationship, the Client agrees to communicate honestly, be open to feedback and assistance and to create the time and energy to participate fully in the coaching process.

  5. The Client understands that coaching is not therapy and does not substitute for therapy if needed and does not prevent, cure, or treat any mental disorder or medical disease.  The Coach does not provide counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or other therapy.  If the Client is currently under the care of a mental health professional, the Coach will recommend that the Client informs the mental health care provider, before starting coaching.

  6. Either the Client or the Coach may terminate this Agreement at any time with one-weeks written notice.  The Client agrees to compensate the Coach for all coaching services rendered until the date of termination of the coaching relationship.

 

5. Confidentiality

This coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is confidential.  The Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent.  Please note confidential information does not include information that:

a. The Coach is required by statute, or by court order to disclose.

b. Is disclosed to the Coach band because of such disclosure the Coach reasonably believes there is to be imminent or likely risk of danger or harm to the Client or others and

c. Involves illegal activity.

The Coach will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

 

6.Release of personal contact information

The Coach engages in training and continuing professional development in pursuing and/or maintaining coaching accreditation (such as the ICF, EMCC and similar bodies).That process requires the names and contact information of all Clients for the purposes of verification by such bodies.

 

The Client agrees to have only your name, contact information and start/end dates of coaching shared with such organisations and /or other parties involved in this process for the sole and necessary purpose of verifying the coaching relationship.

 

According to the ethics of the coaching profession, topics may be anonymously and hypothetically shared with other coaching professionals for training, supervision, mentoring, evaluation, and for coach professional development and/or consultation purposes.

 

7. Limited Liability

 

Except as expressly provided in this Agreement, the Coach makes no guarantees, representations or warranties of any kind or nature, express or implied with respect to the coaching services negotiated, agreed upon and rendered.

 

In no event shall the Coach be liable to the Client for any indirect, consequential, or special damages.

 

Notwithstanding any damages that the Client may incur, the Coach’s entire liability under this Agreement, and the Client’s exclusive remedy, shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the Client to the Coach under this

Agreement for all coaching services rendered through and including the termination date.

​

This Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
